Brick Architecture
Brick architecture includes contemporary and retrospective buildings that utilize the qualities of the material. this includes using bricks in unusual compositions such as in Kengo kuma's graduating design for a shipyard in Shanghai, or frederic schnee's different colored pattern for a house in Beijing.
Brick is one of the most widely used materials in Colombia, making the architectural designs in its capital city, Bogota, stand out worldwide. Due to the excellent quality of the clay found in some regions of the country, brick is used in all aspects of construction, from adobe floor slabs to exterior facades.
Relatively close to the capital are the iconic artisan brickyards that supply materials to the custom brick concrete buildings. Since it is so often used, this material seems that it will never become obsolete although new technological advancements and new ways of application are constantly being discovered.
