Learning from the lavish sets of Baz Luhrmanns The Great Gatsby. The set designer was Luhrmanns wife Catherine Martin who kept the design consistent with turn-of-the-century mansions. The spaces featured a gold-filigreed ceiling hung with ornate crystal chandeliers and a marquetry floor. The decor is all up-to-the-minute 1920s glamour, with richly polished hardwoods, a harlequin-pattern wall covering of silk crisscrossed with ribbons of wood, and a gray and gold Art Deco–style rug and the use of the quintessential Long Island motifs.
