Pergola

A pergola is an outdoor shading feature that can be used in multiple areas such as verandahs, walkways, garden gazebos etc. It basically consists of a sturdy open lattice supported by vertical posts or pillars. Often plant wines are trained to climb up this, creating a green canopy of sorts. It can be used as an effecting shading device for outdoor areas where partial shade is preferred; mostly in temperate climates. They can be interesting and beautiful places to spend leisure time if designed properly. As they are mostly used outdoors, proper treatment needs to be done to make sure the elements are not corroded by the climate.
